As I mentioned in my previous post, I have evolved into a new form, where I start, stop, abandon, pick back up, and abandon again... a ton of projects. I have had to just accept this, since I can't seem to revert back to my previous, hyper focused form. It is what it is.
One upside I have found, is that if a project really, really captures my imagination, I am able to be a bit more single minded with it, which leads us to Genus, my bespoke Plex Media Server front end for the Apple TV. I haven't written anything for the Apple Ecosystem in years, so diving into this was frustrating, but also pretty enjoyable since so much has changed. SwiftUI is really interesting and fun to use, for the most part.
Because of the above, and the fact I am building something for tvOS, which I have never done, this project has had no problems keeping my attention. Stealing an hour here, 3 hours there, I have systematically chipped away at the thing, to the point that I am able to deploy it to one of my Apple TV's and actually use it for watching my libraries of content.
I am about to the point that I need other peoples opinions on it, at least from a user experience standpoint, so I think once I squash a few more bugs I will set it up in Apples Beta Testing system and invite people to install it and provide feedback. Until then, here are some screens of the working app. I'm pretty proud of it, and at least for me, it works 100% the way I want.
Here are some screens of the working app!
Hopefully you like them, cause I LOVE THEM.

The home view of Genus, showing the main navigation and any media that you can continue watching.

The home view of Genus, showing recently added tv and movies that are ready to watch.

The movie library view of Genus, allowing the user to filter by first letter, genre or both.

The tv series library view of Genus, allowing the user to filter by first letter, genre or both. Series show the year and seasons when highlighted.

The series detail view showing seasons, episodes and other meta data.

Media playing in the default tvOS player, with metadata.
