So at some point in the not-so-distant past my extra sync cable was how you say, stolen, which meant that my iPhone would either go dead at work because I forgot to charge it over night, or it would go dead over the weekend since I forgot to bring home my sync cable.

This is just obnoxious. I own the hardware. I am not renting, leasing or otherwise using it without actually owning it.
If I want to buy the iPhone 3G, and then sit it on my shelf without activating it for 3 months that is my prerogative. I own the hardware. The very idea that they could levy penalties against me for not activating the phone with them is an insult and an affront. Read the rest »
So I have been thinking about the changing landscape of iPhone development lately. Everyone was all excited when Apple announced the SDK, and said that they wouldn’t be charging any fees for free apps to be distributed through the store.
While that is great and all, the fact remains at this time, all developers who wish to distribute apps, whether free or pay, must pony up 99.99 for the privilege. This might not be too much of an obstacle for some individuals, but I am pretty sure that this is going to kill some of the apps that we all love. Read the rest »
