I am happy to announce the 0.5 release of Habari Mobile Admin. This plugin creates an admin experience targeted at iPhone and Android mobile users.
The plugin isn’t done by any means, but it is stable enough to get it out there for feedback. Comment moderation isn’t enabled yet, but that is coming in the first update sometime later this week. Everything else should be there and ready for you though.
Head on over to the project page for the skinny, a slideshow and the download link.

It looks good. It even works alright on the Pre (as far as I can tell - I have no idea if I’m missing features or things aren’t quite complete) which is a bonus for me.
Are those Gravatars in the comment section? If so, why?
The log in/log out buttons are still a bit wonky. They don’t seem to do anything when you push them, but then when you reload, they’ve done something.
Good work!
@Khaled,
Thanks man! I can’t take credit for the UI styling though. I can’t wait for you to have a smart phone so you can help me with ideas to make it all better.
@Owen,
That is great about the Pre. I didn’t have any way to test the admin on the pre, so I didn’t want to speak out of turn. I need to get a webOS simulator setup so I can test it there as well.
As for Gravatars, they are comments so I thought I would add them in. It seems to me that if a comment has a gravatar the likeliness of it being a spammy comment goes down. Also, it just looks nice when the gravatar shows up.
Great work, Chris! I really like what you’ve started here, and it makes it much easier to support multiple mobile clients from the website, rather than having each mobile client download and install an app.
Well done!
All I get when going to the plugins page is this error.
"Fatal error: Class mobile_admin contains 1 abstract method and must therefore be declared abstract or implement the remaining methods (Plugin::info) in /[…]/user/plugins/mobile_admin/mobile.admin.plugin.php on line 76"
Any Ideas?
EXCELLENT work Chris. If I had an iphone or an android phone I’d be all over this - I’ll be getting one of those phones in a few short months.
