Let's just start by saying, that I did not get an iPhone last night. At 5:45 I decided to head out the nearest AT&Terrible store to look at the iPhone... you know see if was actually a useful piece of technology.

I arrived at my destination at 6:00 exactly and I was greeted by this a line that wrapped around the building, it looked something like this:

"Minimum new 2-year wireless service plan and activation fee required to activate iPhone features, including iPod". Any of you out there who were thinking of getting the iPhone just for the iPod bits are up the proverbial creek it seems.

Money: A topic I hate

For almost the entirety of the existence of this site, I have abstained from running any advertising.. with the exception of a brief time when I ran ads to support 9rules.

Lets be clear here, I have no problem with people running ads on thier sites and making money. I am very much in favor of people being rewarded for what they do, in whatever way they decide is important.

For me, that reward was always the conversations and activity that I saw on the site as the years went on. Although that is still the case, things have changed financially for the Czar of SIllyness.

Ramping Up

This week is the Ichthus Music Festival in little old Wilmore where I work. For the past couple of years we have been sponsoring the festival, and more importantly we have had students, alumni, faculty and staff there.

During the festival the population of this sleepy little town balloons to nearly 20,000. As I did last year I will be at the festival on Thursday, Friday and some of Saturday helping out with the Asbury College Tent.

If by some twist of fate you are at Ichthus, and would like to hang out, find the Asbury tent and ask for me. We'll get some Chick-fil-A and chat a bit about... whatever.

Web 2.0 meet Phone 2.0

I just really wanted to say that before Apple. Apparently the iPhone will run web apps that are written by 3rd parties. Heaven help us now.

I would really love to finish this little facebook appliance for the $work, but the PHP 5 client download link is broken. Seriously people, it isn't that hard to NOT break download URL's.

CJD Quick Post 0.1

I have really become a fan of the "quick post" inline aside thing. It really has played well into the type of blogging I have the time for at the moment.

It began to be a pain to load the admin area and go to the post page, just to write two sentences. So I started brainstorming some ways to make things a little easier on myself.

The solution was pretty straightforward, and with Habari, suprisingly simple to implement.
