Where am I exactly?

I am sure some of you are wondering where I am lately, and what I am up to.  Quite a few irons are in the fire currently, let me show you a couple of them.

On the book front

Hot on the heels of my Blog Design Solutions experience I was offered a book deal of my own by Apress. I am 5 chapters in on a book that covers development with WordPress.  Aren't you all excited?

Watershed Moments

UPDATE: Thanks everyone for your thoughtful comments. The good news: Jakob came through the surgery fine, and is recovering remarkably well.  The bad news: the procedure was only partially successful.  They are going to have to go back in and perform a similar procedure in another couple of months.

Its 4:50 in the morning and we are preparing to take our son Jakob Michael to the hospital for surgery.  I don't have time to go into particulars, maybe once he is home and safe; it is enough to know that he is going to be put under completely, and the surgery should take an hour and a half.

I am not accustomed to fear, I as a rule do not feel it and right now I am on the edge of terror for my son.  The surgery is routine, the problem common; but that doesn't change the fact that my 5 month old son is going to be put under and operated on.

If you are the praying type, I would very much appreciate your prayers, if not good thoughts are okay too.

I will update when we are through the other side.

9rulers sweeping at SXSW this year.

It looks like some congratulations are in order for some friends.  Veloso, brought home the gold (blog design of the year) as well as 9rules as a whole and Mike won designer of the year.

I will let them hoot and holler in more detail later, but I just wanted to say congrats from me.  Well deserved all around.

What is up with Battlestar Galactica?!

I just got through watching the 90 minute season finale, and I mean what in the world man?

I will give this a few more days before I talk about it in any real depth, since some of my friends out there in internet land have yet to see it, but man when you do.

And what is the dealio with Starbucks hair?

I just got off the phone with them and they aren't planning on releasing an HD version of their product until October!  I am just flabbergasted.  Would someone light a fire under these people?  Please?
