WordPress Sillyness

I have been prodded off and on to set up a section of my site that lists all of the various WordPress related plugins and such that I have written.  So I finally thought I would begin that.

So this page will list all of my plugins, themes and tutorials that pertain to at least version 1.5 of WP.  Any material I have created that predates 1.5 is not of very much use, and I want to encourage people to move onto 1.5, not stick around with 1.2.

Use the handy, dandy menu to the left to select the topic you are interested in.

Fresh and Clean returns

At least for a little while.

I have heard your pleas, and today I answer them, good ol Fresh and Clean has returned, and will remain until I am able to finish my new Theme 'Believe'.

And as promised when I moved the site to K2 sporting Chocolate Raspberry, I am releasing it as free 'Style' :"(We have moved away from the term schemes to a more easily understandable terminology styles)": for those of you who are running K2.  You can find it here.

Expect some small shakeups in the layout of Fresh and Clean over the next couple of days/weeks as I flesh out concepts for 'Believe'.  Once I have finished work on the new theme, I am taking a much needed break from all non-work related web development :"(With the exception being K2 development, but once that is 1.0 I will most likely drop off the grid development-wise for a time. I need to spend more time with my wife and soon to be born child and I need to draw and paint more.)": and design, to focus on writing and art... and a few other surprises.

Let the tearing down and building up begin!

Google Talk

Just a quick post to say that yes google is releasing an IM thingy today, and yes it is using Jabber, and yes you can get it to work in iChat.

Follow these easy steps:

1. You have to have a gmail account, if you don't I have 148 invites, let me know and I can give you one.
2. Open iChat and go to Preferences > Accounts and create a new account with account type Jabber
3. In the username field you need to place your gmail email addy, so say bob@gmail.com
4. Then add your gmail password.
5. iChat will auto fill the server field with gmail.com, which is incorrect.  You need to change that to talk.google.com
6. And then name the account whatever you want.

And that is it, you should now be able to log into google's IM service.  One issue though, the first time you log in, iChat will present you with a dialog that tells you that this is an 'Non-secure Jabber Login'.  If this bothers you, then by all means hit 'Cancel'.

I haven't had any time to really test the new service, although since it is Jabber it should rawk.  For those who know me, email/message me in IM for my Jabber ID.

Oh and just let me say that I am very pissed off that google did not see fit to release this for Mac as well.  The windows beta apparently allows you to call people ala Skype, with the added bonus of it being free, and ad-less.

Very disappointing google, very disappointing indeed.

Sorry to be doing this again

Well I am going to have to push off the last installment of my Publishing with LuLu series one more day.

Things have been crazy, and I need to see my wife people; don't worry Khaled I have the plugin just about done, so all I need to do is finishing testing, and finish the article and we are golden.

Tomorrow, I promise.
