Well today was my first day of employment at the Community Action Council.
What can I say; well first off my office is really groovy. Hardwood floors, two huge windows overlooking the front of the building, just incredible.
Second, as I write this for later posting it is 12:24 pm, and I have yet to do anything. My immediate supervisor is in the mandatory Monday meeting and hasn't emerged yet. Oh and the IT department here attempted to get my login and network privileges running, but have up to this point been largely unsuccessful. I think it has something to do with the fact that they are using a machine in my office that is clearly labeled as shipping with Winbloze 98SE, but the machine is actually running 95!
That one still doesn't make sense to me, taking a machine that ships with a new operating system that isn't all that bad, for a Microsuck product, and replacing it with a geriatric system like 95.
But anyway I am going to get back to waiting for work to do, and oh yes I really am excited about working here, they do a lot for the community in which I live in and it is nice to be a part of something like that.
As an addendum, I was able to start working around 2:00pm, and did I mention that this job rocks? I am going to be planning a press conference or two in the near future, as well as acting in a design capacity.
Oh and another thing, the organization that I work for had a website built in 1997 at the tune of $5,000.00, want to see what they got for thier money? Follow the above link, or if you are lazy click here.
Oh and I would just like to say one thing, evil, evil tables. Rebuke the heresy of tables and embrace the truth of CSS!
Davis out.
Well I have finally fixed the sitemap function on this site. Click here or you can find the link under the #'s != goodness heading in the sidebar.
I ended up at the Microsuck Design Jobs Website for the xBox, dont ask, and found this interesting pic.
I find it interesting that for all the hoopla that THE BEAST is generating concerning XP, namely that it is superior to any other OS in every way that they have a picture on a design website depicting a Apple G4 tower and under that book he is reading a G3 PowerBook.
What kind of signal is this sending to designers? If THE BEAST goes to design houses that are mac shops instead of those that run XP, 2000 etc what does that say about the usability of their product?
Yeah thats what I thought.
While over at blogs4God I saw that MeanDean has listed a link to none other than the blog of... Wil Wheaton!
When will the madness stop? Will LeVar Burton have a link on Bible Gateway?
How do you like that.
Another blogger added to the ranks of Wilmorons, and a Mac user no less. Chris Naughton of CNaughton.com fame is the newest, lemming err.. I mean welcome addition to the ranks.
You can find his blog here, hey that title smacks a little of some Sillyness Spelled Wrong Intentionally don't you think?
Seriously welcome Chris to the party and read whatever nonsense he sees fit to throw up.
Well I finally figured out how to fix the tabbed browsing bug in Cunning.
So now the only hold out is a little bug with the status text along the bottom, and then the U_I is finished.
I have also hacked on the problem of spellchecking in the U_I, and have come up with a lame, but effective solution.
I have added a text editor of sorts to Cunning, allowing you to type whatever you want to input into a text field, and it can checked there and then cut and pasted.
I will be releasing a new binary with all the improvements and extras in the dext few days.
Well I feel as though I have performed my duty for the week, whilst perusing the content over at blogs4God I noticed that MeanDean had updated the Techno Cache with a reference and link to my post about Bill Shatner's blog, and he provided a link to Bill Shatner's website from the front page of blogs4God.
William Shatner has a link from blogs4God, My work is indeed finished.
This time from his lovely daughter Lisabeth.
Apparently not only does the Billster possess marketing accumen that is approaching god(little g)like as well as that super groove factor *see priceline commercials and actual recordings he has done in the past*, but the man has written a book that attempts to explain complex scientific theories and concepts in laymens terms.
The book in question I'm Working on That is a collection of subjects that tickle Bill's fancy as it were; the book records his search for answers and then turns around and presents the findings in a hopefully, easy to digest format for those that are not as technically inclined.
Should be intersting.
Oh yeah, I added WilliamShatner.com to my other places to go section. So any time you need a fix of Shat, by all means click there.
Here is a little beauty from yours truly, not painted by of course, but posted by, to brighten your days and enliven your souls.

Your welcome
